The Support ASL Project

The Support ASL Project is designed to educate people who are not aware about ASL and empower Deaf people and/or their families who may still feel uncomfortable to use ASL in public.  More and more states are formally recognizing ASL as an official language by passing legislation stating such.  However, the work is not done for ASL advocates.  There continue to be a need to increase awareness and acceptance of ASL.  Using SUPPORT ASL products will promote awareness of ASL, and support the preservation of ASL.

Veditz

"... They do not understand signs for they cannot sign.  They proclaim that signs are worthless and of no help to the Deaf.  Enemies of the sign language, they are enemies of the true welfare of the Deaf.  As long as we have Deaf people on earth, we will have signs.  It is my hope that we all will love and guard our beautiful sign language..."

George Veditz (1861 - 1937)
Twice elected President of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and established the "Preservation of Sign Language" project in 1913.
